As you know I am always on the hunt for the next best makeup product, and I defiantly think I have found a product in the running. When Medusa's Makeup asked me to do a review on their products, I was super excited. Their range of products is huge, packed full of highly pigmented shadows, glitters, eyeliners, mascaras, glosses, and more. When I saw the wide range and variety of colors, I was literally taken aback. They make colors you only dream about wearing, and what I love most is exactly how it looks on the package is exactly how it will look on your skin, because it is so well pigmented.
First, I want to tell you a little about the company because I found it to be a very inspirational company. They had their own fashion store called "Medusa's Circle Boutique", and then got inspired to create "Medusa's Makeup" in 1998 which was mainly glitters and eye dusts, which then they decided to launch their products to the rest of the world in 2005. But get this they make 100% Cruelty Free products, I also love how creative their products are and how they aren't afraid to step out of the box when creating their products, and "push the envelope" as they say on their website. I won't read their whole bio on here to you, but it is defiantly something you should also check out, if you decide on buying their products.
I was asked to do a review on their eye shadow in Electro Red. (as seen below)
I also received on of their lip glosses as well, as a surprise! Naturally, in the color "Bite Me." :p
First, we will start with the eye shadow. The eye shadow comes in a clear pot with a flip top lid, with the name clearly written on the back. The cost of this product is $8.00, and is 2 grams worth of product (so you get a good amount). When I saw a picture of it, I wasn't sure if it would be true to color, but is defiantly a true electro red!
The closest object I could describe when describing this color is a tomato red. This red picks up a lot of glitter, and is a very smooth and blendable product. I think it would be great to pair with a black and make a smoked out effect. It is also great for stage makeup, and only wish these products were available, when I did a lot of stage singing/dancing. The only thing I would suggest doing just like with any eye makeup product, is to wear primer underneath is because it can come off almost chalky and throughout the day will flake if you don't. Overall, I am really impressed with these eye shadows, and will be buying more of them in the future.
Overall Product Score: 5*
Finally, we will talk about the surprise item I received. The lip gloss in the color "Bite Me". Here is a swatch of the color below. At the end, I will show you what the lip gloss, and the eye shadow looks like together in one look.
The scent of this lip gloss is in a scrumptious watermelon. I like how it isn't a sticky lip gloss (one of my major pet peeves!), and it is true to its color. Also, it doesn't bleed and for me it lasted for several hours with light drinking. It is somewhat transparent when you put it on, but that is what sets it apart from other glosses, so I did double up on applying it quite a few times. The cost of this product is $8.00, and you get .25 fl oz. of this product. Overall, it is not my favorite lip gloss, but it is by far not the worse, and that scent is incredible, so I also give it a high overall score.
Overall Product Score: 4*
Forgive me in this picture my eyebrows need to be done, but I was mainly focused on the eyes and lips in this look so everyone could see what it looks like with a fair skin tone.
What do you think about these products? Do you have any favorite colors, and will you be buying these in the future? I would love to hear your feedback, and feel free to ask me any questions.
