Pop Art Craze Coloricon Shadow Trio - Wet N Wild

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday, it's almost the weekend and the closer it gets to the weekend the closer it gets to fall here in South Carolina. So, I wanted to get one more "Summer 2013" review in before we grab onto the wonderful fall trends coming up.

Today we are going to talk about the Wet n Wild - Limited Edition - Pop Art Craze! There are many in this collection, as seen below at my local Walgreens.

One that really sticks out for me though is the trio "A Regular at the Factory," which is what I think is the best trio of transitioning summer into fall just like the weather is beginning to do in the South.

I bought “Regular At the Factory”, which includes an electric blue, vivid orange and a cream for the brow bone. I own many high end eye shadows, but none quite like this trio. At $2.00 with my Walgreen's card (depending on where you shop), this is nothing less than a bargain!

It is a cruelty free as well as a gluten free product, which as you know is something that isn't a must, but defiantly a plus when looking for new makeup products to add to my collection. If your looking to take your makeup collection with bigger and brighter colors, then adding the Pop Art Craze to your stockpile is a must before they come off the shelves for good (at least the limited edition anyways)!

Here are some swatches, so you can get the full effect of how pigmented these colors really are:

Overall Product Score: 4.3*

What do you think about the Coloricon Eye Shadow Trio's? Which one's are your favorite's? I would love to hear your comments/questions. Also, feel free to leave feedback below. :)

Rainbow Shadow Labs Review

Hello Everyone! How is everyone on this fabulous Sunday? I have an exciting what I would call "underground" company to tell you about called Rainbow Shadow Labs. What I mean by that is it is not a company like Sephora (just using that as an example, I love them!) or a big name company purely based off of sells and consumed by false advertisement or back by hyped media. This is a company that has been around since 1983 which is not well known, but a company I have done a lot of research on. I see it as a company that if put in the right business owner hands could be a Fortune 500 company with not only a great background, but with wonderful products that truly work and have potential for great future ahead. After trying their products I am surprised no one has jumped on this bandwagon, so to speak.

To truly understand what they are about here is what is says on their About Me section, and the best way I know how to explain it.

This is taken straight from their website (http://www.rainshadowlabs.com/About_ep_65-1.html):

~ Not only are they a private label manufacturing company, but can you believe how great they are for not only your skin, but the environment??? I didn't so I had to check it out for myself, and I am truly impressed as you can tell. Let me now share with you just a small portion of some of their products, and then judge for yourself! :)

The Products

Bruise & Scar Cream

"Contains Vitamin E and Organic Arnica Montana. Vitamin E has long been used in burn centers and in alternative treatments to facilitate proper healing of scars. Arnica Montana is endorsed by sports coaches and doctors alike for its help in clearing and preventing bruising."

Directions for Use: "Super thick body crème.  Apply quarter-size amount to bruised/scarred area and massage in completely.  Do not wash off.  Can be used as an all-over body moisturizer."

Results: Out of all the products, I was most impressed and excited about this one. After having surgery for my Crohn's, I was even more self-conscious about my surgical scar. After just a week of use I noticed a difference, you can't really see it in the pic's I took but I can't wait to post pictures after a month of use, then I will be able to flaunt off that bikini like I have always wanted! Not only that this product can be not only used for scarring, but all over the body in general. I also think that it is especially good for when your pregnant for a moisturizer. This crème has no scent at all, so if you are looking for a great moisturizing products, and have a lot of allergies like I do, this is great.

 Overall product Score: 4.9*

Seaweed Elixir Masque

..."This mask is soothing, rich, and deeply healing to any and all skin types. It is gentle and safe enough for daily use. Sea Vegetables and Ocean Water Therapy have been used for millennia to heal and restore health and vitality to our species. To Your Face!"

Directions for Use: "This mask is gentle enough that it can be used several times a week. Apply a generous amount to face, neck and decollate, or can be used as a whole body mask.  Allow to dry. It is a creamy based mask so it will not completely harden like some clay masks but it will start to get stiff and flaky.  Use a damp steamed towel to wipe off or wash off with warm water. "
Results: This is my second favorite product. I am gonna admit, I was a little skeptical about putting a Seaweed mask on my face, something about it kind of freaked me out. But once I put it on my face, I am glad I did. Out of all the things it does, one thing I really noticed is that it made my face almost silky soft! It has a very subtle fresh crème smell, and doesn't smell like seaweed at all, which surprised me. It goes on thick, and once done drying it is almost skin tone color that's how you know its been on long enough. I find this a great product to use as that weekly face mask.

Overall product Score: 4.2*

 Hydration Bomb Mask
If you haven't figured it out yet I am listing them in the order of my fav's. This is my third favorite product out of the 5 they sent me.
"Our proprietary formulation of aloe vera juice delivers impressive aquatics in a bioavailable solution directly into your skin cells. Botanical solvents drive moisture repair ingredients directly into the heart of your skin cells. The end result is that you wash away your tired, sallow and shriveled complexion with a chirrally correct brilliant wave of RSL Hydration Bomb...Gentle enough for daily use. Perfect as part of a hydrating facila protocol."
Directions for Use: Apply, leave on for a few minutes (up to 30), moisten, and gently rinse to remove. Safe and gentle enough for daily use.
Results: I literally think I have the driest skin humanly possible, I have been on the hunt to moisturize my face. I think I have finally found the product, and I am praying it continues to work! This mask does exactly what it says it does, it hydrates! It has a nice lemon smell, and has the most scent out of all the products. It goes on clear as well as dries clear, so the only negative I have to say about it is ,because of that it can be hard to tell if you have taken all of the mask off or got it on all the places you want it. Unlike the Seaweed mask, this mask gives you that mask feeling. It has a nice menthol cooling feel to it. So, if you like using mask's that "do something" that you feel so to speak and know they are working, I would go with this one over the Seaweed mask. They are both great though.
Overall product Score: 4.0*

Eye Bright Gel
"It is no exaggeration to say that this formula addresses every single eye area concern possible. Dark circles, wrinkles, sagging, puffing, loss of plump and firm, loss of tone and resilience....its all taken care of in this delicate and light gel."
"Do not be deceived by the elegant and refined nature of the look and feel of this formula. This product is NOT to be underestimated. From Plant Stem Cells to Multiple Complex Peptide blends....from botanically derived Hyaluronic Acid Spheres to fiber and cellular rebuilding Amino Acids.....collagen boosting and skin firming and wrinkle repairing ingredients are fully loaded into this genius formula. Use it daily. Use it ten times a day. You will be addicted."
Directions for Use: "Dab around eyes, forehead and cheek area. Can be used as an all over face treatment.  Safe to use morning and night. Can be used under makeup."
**By the way if you are wondering why I am putting all this information about it up, and directions it is because when you order the sample sizes they are not on the back of the packages**
Results: Now, I wouldn't recommend putting it on ten times a day, ha-ha. I do however put it on twice a day, and I must say I do notice a difference when I wake up in the morning. I look more rested even when I've only had the time to have 4 hours of sleep. The only negative thing I have to say about it is I don't too particularly care for the formula. And what I mean by that is it feels and goes on like grape jelly. It does work great though, so I can get over it because of that. The smell of the formula I can't quite figure out neither can my husband, I would say its almost a sea salt kind of smell. It's not a bad smell, and strangely enough I like the smell. I just have no idea what it is! ha-ha. This is a good product to use though, if you need that quick awake look without having to get Botox.

 Overall product Score: 4.0*

Turbo Wrinkle Smoothing Crème

"The name says it all. If there is one turn back the clock product that every person over 25 with skin should have, this is it. Filled with the most medically advanced and clinically proven ingredients available. Restore firmness, heal sun damage, increase hydration, erase wrinkles, smooth texture, nourish at the dermal layer, minimize irritation, increase skin brightness and even out skin tone..."

Directions for Use: "Apply all over face, neck and décolleté.  For sensitive skin use only at night; for normal to oily skin can be used morning and night.  Apply after washing, toning and  then a serum.  Can be used under makeup. Can be sold as an eye crème or all over face crème.  Great for all ages."

Results: Now out of the products I was sent this was my least favorite one. Doesn't mean it wasn't a good product because it is, its just that I am only 24 years old so lucky for me I really haven't been faced with face wrinkles'. To me this crème has the same smell as the last product we talked about, I just can't seem to figure it out but I like it. The only wrinkle's I am starting to get are right under my eyes, so this is where I focused the product at. Only after a week, I did significantly notice a tightness in my skin that wasn't there before. I will keep yall updated just like with the scar crème, I think this is going to be a product that will be a process. This is a great starter product to add to one's skin regime for someone in their 30's, and later on will be a product I will choose to use everyday to avoid having wrinkles.

 Overall product Score: 3.7*

I would like to personally thank Rainbow Shadow Labs for allowing me to try out their products. If you are interested in trying out their products, you can click on this link HERE. Loreal - Voluminous Million Lashes

Good Afternoon all my lovely and wonderful blogger followers! This week I have been on a mission to try out many different mascara's. I would love to review them all (and maybe one day I will do a big post on all of them) but for now I want to review the new Loreal - Voluminous Million Lashes. My favorite mascara of all time right now is the Benefit - They're Real. It is truly amazing! Let's see how the drugstore brand of Loreal does, and if it can even come close.

I bought this particular product at my local Dollar General at $7 in the color Blackest Black (630). Which is an average price for mascara now a days.

                              Pro's

  • True to its color, rich & black
  • Creamy formula
  • Not too dry & not too wet
  • The bristles from the brush grabs onto the lashes and coats them evenly
  • No smudging
  • Great at building it on if you want a thinner or thicker eyelash
  • Waterproof
  • Holds curl throughout the day

                            Con's

  • Will sometimes clump if you are not careful with it
  • Not meant for volume
  • Only lengthens
  • Does not have a clean definition
Honestly too me, I liked the mascara but nothing about it to me really stood out. I wasn't WOWED or SHOCKED by it. I bought this because I thought the packaging looked very chic and high end. With a name like "Million Lashes", I did expect bold, dramatic results, but to me, this gives more of a natural look.

While I love Benefit - They're Real mascara, I think Voluminous Million Lashes is a decent runner up for less money or those just starting a makeup collection. To get the best results from this mascara, I would recommend using a primer booster on your lashes, and coating your lashes between 2-3 times to get the best results from this product.

Overall product Score: 3.8*
  • Have you tried the Loreal brand? Do you have a favorite product from their line of products? What's your favorite type of mascara, and what deals have you found? Please, feel free to leave any comment's and questions below! I love hearing from you! Without my blogger followers, there would be no blog. :)

Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment Mask Review

Hello Everyone! Welcome to Manic Monday, just kidding! No seriously though, nothing can be quite stressful like Monday's. There is so much to do and oh such little time to do it in. So when I was trying to figure out a product to review on my weekly trip to Walgreen's, I thought a facial mask would be the perfect thing to review. On sale for $1.99, I thought the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment Mask would be perfect to put on and relax after work.

For more information about it and the easiest way I know to explain it here is the information I gathered straight from the Garnier website:

Is it right for me? Dark spots, dullness, and uneven skin come from a number of sources and are one of the most difficult problems to treat. A gentle and yet effective treatment can sometimes be hard to find.

Garnier Skin Renew introduces Dark Spot Treatment Mask, a 10-minute gentle facial mask with Vitamin C that leaves skin intensely hydrated for 24 hours and brightens for smooth, radiant skin that feels refreshed and revitalized. This translucent tissue mask with breakthrough Stretch-to-Fit Technology acts as a "second skin"—smoother and better adherence to the natural contours of the face—for maximum comfort and effectiveness.

How is it different?
INNOVATIVE DELIVERY SYSTEM
Each facial tissue mask contains 1/2 bottle* of hydrating serum, delivered in a relaxing full facial application.
Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment Mask utilizes breakthrough Stretch-to-Fit Technology—a translucent tissue mask that perfectly fits the natural contours of the face, delivering continuous intense hydration. A 10-minute facial for brighter, more radiant skin.

How do I use it
Cleanse and dry face. Gently place mask on face and adjust around eyes, nose and mouth. After 10 minutes, remove mask and massage remaining product into skin.

In one use: Instant radiance + 24 hour hydration.
In just 2 weeks: Skin is brighter and more even when mask is used 3x per week."

I thought about posting a picture with the mask on, but I won't do that to my fellow followers! haha. It was a tad scary, so this is a picture of what the mask looks like.

The Review: I was very impressed with this mask. Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the Garnier brand until I used this face mask. And after just one use (because that is all I bought) it makes me want to try some of their other products. I am sure if you use this mask 3x per week, you will get even better results. After just one use though, my face felt hydrated and refreshed. I did this mask for about 25 minutes, while it suggests 10 minutes I felt like it would be a waste and I wanted to get the full results. This worked just as well. I have a problem with dry skin (really dry!) so I am constantly using moisturizers.I also have very sensitive skin, and this didn't feel like my skin was burning like a Michael Todd mask. Not that their is anything wrong with Michael Todd mask's, its just my skin can't handle them. I would say after about 48hrs this is when I felt like I could use another mask. So it did last a really long time, and if your going to invest in facial mask's, I would suggest getting a box of these instead of just a single packet. At Walmart you can get a 6 count of these for $14.97.

Overall product Score: 3.5*

Medusa's Makeup Review

As you know I am always on the hunt for the next best makeup product, and I defiantly think I have found a product in the running. When Medusa's Makeup asked me to do a review on their products, I was super excited. Their range of products is huge, packed full of highly pigmented shadows, glitters, eyeliners, mascaras, glosses, and more. When I saw the wide range and variety of colors, I was literally taken aback. They make colors you only dream about wearing, and what I love most is exactly how it looks on the package is exactly how it will look on your skin, because it is so well pigmented.

First, I want to tell you a little about the company because I found it to be a very inspirational company. They had their own fashion store called "Medusa's Circle Boutique", and then got inspired to create "Medusa's Makeup" in 1998 which was mainly glitters and eye dusts, which then they decided to launch their products to the rest of the world in 2005. But get this they make 100% Cruelty Free products, I also love how creative their products are and how they aren't afraid to step out of the box when creating their products, and "push the envelope" as they say on their website. I won't read their whole bio on here to you, but it is defiantly something you should also check out, if you decide on buying their products.

I was asked to do a review on their eye shadow in Electro Red. (as seen below)

I also received on of their lip glosses as well, as a surprise! Naturally, in the color "Bite Me." :p

First, we will start with the eye shadow. The eye shadow comes in a clear pot with a flip top lid, with the name clearly written on the back. The cost of this product is $8.00, and is 2 grams worth of product (so you get a good amount). When I saw a picture of it, I wasn't sure if it would be true to color, but is defiantly a true electro red!

The closest object I could describe when describing this color is a tomato red. This red picks up a lot of glitter, and is a very smooth and blendable product. I think it would be great to pair with a black and make a smoked out effect. It is also great for stage makeup, and only wish these products were available, when I did a lot of stage singing/dancing. The only thing I would suggest doing just like with any eye makeup product, is to wear primer underneath is because it can come off almost chalky and throughout the day will flake if you don't. Overall, I am really impressed with these eye shadows, and will be buying more of them in the future.

Overall Product Score: 5*

Finally, we will talk about the surprise item I received. The lip gloss in the color "Bite Me". Here is a swatch of the color below. At the end, I will show you what the lip gloss, and the eye shadow looks like together in one look.

The scent of this lip gloss is in a scrumptious watermelon. I like how it isn't a sticky lip gloss (one of my major pet peeves!), and it is true to its color. Also, it doesn't bleed and for me it lasted for several hours with light drinking. It is somewhat transparent when you put it on, but that is what sets it apart from other glosses, so I did double up on applying it quite a few times. The cost of this product is $8.00, and you get .25 fl oz. of this product. Overall, it is not my favorite lip gloss, but it is by far not the worse, and that scent is incredible, so I also give it a high overall score.

Overall Product Score: 4*

Forgive me in this picture my eyebrows need to be done, but I was mainly focused on the eyes and lips in this look so everyone could see what it looks like with a fair skin tone.

What do you think about these products? Do you have any favorite colors, and will you be buying these in the future? I would love to hear your feedback, and feel free to ask me any questions.

To view or buy any of these products that I talk about in this review or other's go to Medusa's website here: http://www.medusasmakeup.com/

Makeover Essential Cosmetics - Palette "Beauty To Go"

Recently, I was given a palette from one of my friends, because she knows lately I have been obsessed with finding the next best thing (or worse), and so I thought being this was a company/product I had never heard of it would be perfect for my next review.

I was looking up the price on the palette I received, and was shocked to see they sell it for $49.99 on their official website, when I know she payed no where near this. She bought it from a door-to-door sells man from their company though, so maybe they make their own prices? Here is what I received:

"When you need your quick color fix on the go… Pick up Beauty To Go for gorgeous color for the eyes and lips.  Twelve beautiful, rich shades that make your eyes something to envy and six luscious lip colors. Easy glamour to-go. All you need in one, combination of face powder, blush, eyes and lip colors."

Overall for the price, I expected this "Beauty To Go" palette to be awesome. I mean I knew it wouldn't be as great as MAC or anything. Now don't get me wrong this palette isn't all bad, but it isn't all that great either. Let's start with the negative's about this palette, and work our way to the things worth keeping this palette.

The eye shadow's were the worse thing in the palette, I was disappointed with all of the color's but two of them. They were not pigmented at all! Even when I used primer, and tried going over my eyes with the colors multiple times it just did not look good. The only colors I could half way do something with was the dark green which I will wear, and the brown which frankly, well, has just never been a color that I have been crazy about on my eyes. As far as the yellow's and the beautiful blue which is what caught my eye to begin with they just weren't working for me.

I continued on to the lip glosses which I must say went on very smoothly, and gave me a very nice shimmery, and subtle look to my lips. Out of all the things in this palette, I will use these the most. I had no problem applying them, and it didn't have a sticky feel to it like a lot of lip glosses do now days, which I enjoyed.

Lastly, we have what I would call a bronzer (too dark for a blush for me), a salmon colored blush, and medium to light colored face powder. Out of the three I won't get much use out of the bronzer nor the face powder, because I feel it is too dark for me, but someone of a darker pigment it would look wonderful on. The blush on the other hand looks great with my skin tone, and this is literally what saved this palette. Even though it is sheer, its kind of ironic because I enjoy that you can use a lot of it, and it won't make you look...uh...cheap. Unlike the shadow's which are so sheer, and pigmented that I can't use them.

All in all, I am sure they have some wonderful products because the lip glosses were beautiful, as well as the blush, but if I had the chance at buying this palette sadly I wouldn't pay anymore than $5 because I feel what I can use is worth that.

Have you ever tried Me Makeover Essiential Cosmetics? What items have you tried? If so do you think I am being harsh, or do you agree with my review? Let me know below in the comment section, I would love your feedback.

Wet n Wild - Coloricon Bronzer

Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer SPF 15 - Ticket To Brazil

One thing I have really been passionate about in the past couple of month's ever since I got on my makeup frenzy is Bronzer. A girl with such a light complexion as myself it is a must have product. I notice myself feeling more confident when I wear it, and just overall having a healthier look. I will be honest, I haven't always been crazy about Wet n Wild products, but this year they have come out with some products that I really enjoy. They have truly stepped up their game when it comes to cheap, but well made products.

There are three different shades that I know of: Reserve your Cabana (which is more of a highlighter than bronzer), Bikini Contest (which has more of a pink tinted lighter bronzer), and Ticket to Brazil (which is the darkest and truly a light brown bronze color). This is the color I went with as seen below.

This color is extremely pigmented, so fairer skin tones will want to apply this lightly at first. I personally use this not only on my face, but also as an old over body bronzer, I like how it gives you that natural tan color. At my local drug store it runs $4, so for what your getting, and how much your getting (they are not a regular size compact but bigger) it is not a bad price. They are very smooth and not only blend well, but apply well too. They stay on your face for wear from 5-7 hours, I have noticed before I have had to reapply. My favorite thing about this product though which is something I always look for is the fact that it has an SPF of 15. So, I know even in the sweltering heat of the South if I decide to wear this say at the beach, I will not get burnt.

I truly can't find anything I hate about this product, their is only one negative thing I can say about it, and that is you have to be careful how much you apply. Although, this is with any product that you apply that you always have to be careful and be attentive to what you are doing. All in all based on everything I give this product a very high score, because I don't have any major complaints.

I will leave you with the before and after pictures of what this product looks like on me:

               Before Bronzer                                          After Bronzer

Overall Product Score: 4.5*
