Ipsy - April 2014

Hello all my bloggie beauty readers! I hope yall are having a great start to the weekend. Before I head down to Myrtle Beach for the weekend, I wanted to share with you the most recent edition of  April's Ipsy Glam Bag!

This month's theme I thought was a pretty cool one which was "Beauty Rocks!" I love the whole dj/band theme and the thought that Ipsy put behind showing off the bag as well as their sneak peaks on their facebook page.

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil - "A must for smoky-eye fanatics: an ultra-plush version of UD’s creamy, waterproof 24/7 formula. Create perfectly blended-out or rich, precise lines that are blacker-than-black." This is the one item in the bag that everyone was drooling over including myself. Urban Decay is known for its fabulous makeup products, so whenever we receive one there are high expectations. This item is no different. I love how easily this eye pencil glides on literally like its name "velvet." This to me was worth the price of the bag, and I can't wait to experiment with it as well as other "24/7 Glide-On" eye pencil's that they produce.

City Color White Gold Shadow & Highlight Mousse - "Brighten your eyes and cheekbones with the City Color White Gold Shadow & Highlight Mousse. This smooth and creamy product is enriched with luminosity, providing a beautiful gold sheen finish. Use as an eye shadow base as well as a highlighter." For me this is a product I am new too. I have never quite understood the purpose of highlighting (or how for that matter) your cheekbones. Maybe, I need to watch some more tutorials on it? Until then though I think this will be a wonderful shadow base, and I am thankful to Ipsy for showing me something new to do with this product. I also hear this is a wonderful company to buy products from as well.

Demeter Jasmine Perfume Roll On - "An exotic, sweet, warm floral bouquet. Demeter’s Jasmine is the experience of the living flowers picked on a beautiful spring night. Wear alone or layer with your favorite Demeter fragrance. With over 250 fragrances, the Demeter Fragrance library is inspired by everyday objects and experiences. " Ahhh, I love almost anything Demeter makes, you really should go check out their fragrances. They make everything from fresh linen to a quirky funeral home scent...lol. I don't like receiving fragrances in my beauty subscriptions, but this is one brand I make an exception for. My husband didn't care for it much, but I on the other hand thought the Jasmine was a very sutle yet powerful flowery smell.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion - "The Dr. brandt® microdermabrasion gently sweeps away dead skin cells and softens skin texture, which enables better absorption of skincare products and helps diminish the appearance of fine lines, acne marks, and skin discolorations. A great at home alternative to professional clinical treatments." I actually already have this product from a previous subscription, but I love it. I would tell anyone with dry skin this item is a must! Microdermabrasion procedures are expensive in an actual office, so this is a great alternative to taking off dead skin and making your skin look new again.

Mary Kay at Play Jelly Lip Gloss (Berry Me) - "Turn up the volume with Mary Kay At Play™ color! It’s flirtatiously fun makeup you can remix-n-match to create your own color playlist. The Mary Kay At Play™ Jelly Lip Gloss has a fun jelly texture that offers brilliant, intense shine with a sheer wash of color." There were two options we could have received; a nude color (Teddy Bare) or this one which is Berry Me. I am so happy that I received berry me, because I absolutely hate nude colors and love having that extra pop of color. I have tried a couple of products from the "Mary Kay at Play" line now, and I must say Mary Kay has really improved over the years. I love how this moisturizes my lips yet gives me that sheen & shine look.

Now, if you like my bag and want to sign up for Ipsy for yourself it is $10 a month (which includes shipping), and each month you will receive a makeup bag catered to the answers from your beauty quiz with generally 5 items. Michelle Phan curates the bags. And you can sign up & check it out here: SIGN UP FOR IPSY

Feel free to leave any comment and/or questions, and until next time like I always say stay beautiful by staying YOU! :)

Younique - Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes

Hello Everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful week. I have several exciting reviews coming up this week, so be looking out instead of the usual once a week post there may be two or three this week. Today, I want to talk about a product I'm sure you have heard about before, but may have been a little skeptic about? It's Younique - Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes! And let me tell you I was very surprised with the results.

I actually received this item from a giveaway I won (shout out to Kristina McSherry!). I have always wanted to try it but never wanted to spend the money to buy it because I just didn't know if it worked. Lets be honest it isn't just your typical mascara. It is $29 so it is on the higher end, but it comes with so much. The first wand is the transplanting gel, you put this on right after you put on your favorite mascara. Before it has time to dry though you put on part two; the second wand is the 3D Fiber lashes.

Here were my results...

This was before I put on the gel & the fiber lashes. I do however have eyeliner and mascara on.

This is only ONE coat of the gel and fiber lashes, and as you can tell the difference all I can say is WOW!!! I don't have the picture but with two coats my eyelashes looked like they exploded (but in a good way!)

I received a compliment from my husband (yes a man! lol) about my eyelashes when he got off work. So, for him to notice when he never notices new makeup tells you it worked.

I only wish I had found this product or knew about it a long time ago. I totally believe it is worth the $29 price tag, because you are receiving not just one but two really amazing items. Now, needless to say I am in between a beginner and expert when it comes to makeup. I have one complaint and one complaint only (but if your an expert you won't have this) I did have to practice so that it didn't clump up. Other than that though, everything went smoothly.

Overall Product Score: 4.8*

So, what do you think about Younique's - Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes? Have you tried any products by Younique before, if so what are your favorites? If you haven't tried any of their products what is keeping you from doing so? I would love to hear your comments/questions, remember you make the blog! :-D

Now if you wish to buy this product or any other Younique products you can do so through my friend Kristina McSherry's page HERE.

Until next time.....As always Stay Beautiful by Staying You!

Rimmel London - Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

Hello All! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. It has been a slow week for me as far as products coming in to review (I have quite a lot coming in). So, I figured until then I would take a step back and give you a review of one of my new found favorite product, I received from an Influenster box. S/N: If you decide you would like to join Influenster, I have a couple of invites left just e-mail me your email address and I will send you one. So, back to the product. Rimmel London's Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation is one of the best liquid foundation I have owned in some time!

Pro's
Matches Skin Tone Almost Perfectly
Great for pale skin tones (like myself)
Great Coverage
Doesn't Oxidize
Doesn't Cake
light-weight feel
shrink's pores
affordable (anywhere from $4.99-$6.99)

Con's
No SPF
Can be drying

Overall Product Score: 4.8*

The only reason this product doesn't get a perfect score (which is rare might I add) from me is because I have such dry skin, I have to moisturize before putting it on. A lot of people will not have this problem though if you have normal or oily skin, I am just one of the few that has SUPER dry skin. I would also recommend using a beauty Beauty Blender sponge or something like it. It's so much easier to put it on and goes on even smoother when having the proper tools, just like with any liquid foundation.

So, what do you think about Rimmel London - Stay Matte Liquid Foundation? Have you ever tried it or something else from their line? I love hearing your feedback, and feel free to leave any questions or comments. Until next time, remember to stay you, "A Beautiful You," just by being nothing other than yourself. :-D

Glossybox - March 2014

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying April Fool's Day, I am still cooking up some prank's myself. What's the greatest April Fool's joke you ever played?

Even though its the start of April, I am just now receiving my Glossybox so let's see what it has in store for us for the month of March shall we?

Alex And Ani Scent 7 Body Mist - "Scent 7 Body Mist has been created with the four elemental energies of earth, fire, and water. This enchanting fragrance radiates soft warmth that flows through the energy sources of the body, encouraging emotional balance along with a sense of ease and comfort to the body and mind." I loved that this was a full size product (worth $18!). I didn't however like the scent, I am just really picky about my body sprays. To me it has to strong of a musk scent. I have heard of people using this as a house spray which isn't such a bad idea, but instead I will be giving this as a gift so someone else can get use out of it.

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Volume Plumping Strand Expand - "A thickening lotion that strengthens, moisturizes, and adds volume to the hair from root to tip. Hair appears full-bodied and never weighed down." I for sure don't need my hair any thicker, but I do like that it adds volume and strengthens my hair. I also love the smell of it. The full size price for this product is $22.

Etre Belle Cosmetics Liplift Peel - "A gentle and moisturizing exfoliator for the lip area. It gently removes dead cells and refines the surface skin. Once a week, or as needed, massage a small amount of Liplift Exfoliator on the lip area with gentle circular motions. After a minute, remove with a dampened cotton pad." I love that they included this in the box this month (another full size product!!). Not to mention, it works really well and took dead skin off my lip I didn't even know I had! I would definitely recommend this if your looking for a good lip exfoliator. The full size price for this product is $17.80

Nails Inc Brook Street Nail Polish - "Look forward to spring? Skip ahead to warmer times by wearing this bright, summery coral. Nails inc polishes are professionally formulated for a long lasting, super glossy, flawless finish." This is a really pretty coral color, and I foresee coral being an "In" color for this spring (as well as pastels). At first I thought this was a really small sample, but its amazing how much polish is in this small bottle. The full size price for this product is $9.50

Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask - "The first Sisley mask enriched with anti-aging active ingredients. A skincare mask rich is trace elements, vitamins and plant extracts, specially formulated to act instantly on the signs of aging and fatigue to rejuvenate skin and restore vitality." At first when I put this on I was a little confused, because when I think of a face mask its not usually clear like this one is. However, I really like the feel of this mask and the way it makes my skin feel clean and rejuvenated afterwards. In my opinion, its a great mask to do in the morning when you first wake up. The little sample we got if I calculated it right is worth $28, the full size price for this product is $158! A great product, but defiantly a luxury item.

Alex and Ani Charm Bangle BONUS item - Even though its not a beauty care item, this is defiantly my favorite item in the box. The value of this bracelet is $28, and it is gorgeous. I'm not sure if everyone received the same one (I think they did) but I received a beautiful swan bracelet.

So, how did you like your box? What variation did you receive, the same or something different? If you don't subscribe do you subscribe to something similar, and why don't you subscribe? I love hearing your feedback/questions so feel free to leave them below!

If you wish to subscribe to Glossybox it cost $21 monthly, maybe cheaper depending on what discount code is running that month (so make sure you check their social pages and sign up for their emails!) Go HERE to subscribe through my link.
