Hello Everyone!
Are you a busy mom or just an on-the-go business woman like myself? There's hardly any time to go get a manicure much less to do your nails at home waiting for polish to dry, and then even after you think it's dry you end up smudging it as you hit it on something as you run out the door. I have the ultimate solution.
I've always really likes fake nails....countless times they have saved me from a job interview or a last minute get together when my nails have been at their worst where they were chipped, peeling, or stained from gardening. The only thing I disliked about fake nails was dealing with messy glue, so when I found out about ImPRESS Press-On Manicure ($7.99 at Walgreens, a little more or a little less depending on color/design)...well let me you I was SUPER excited! Let's get to it!
Packaging
I like that they have clear packaging so you know exactly what you are getting. The only thing I felt it lacked is that their old packaging which was shaped like a nail polish bottle (it was super cute!) held the leftover nails a little easier. However, this packaging holds the leftover nails - it is just a tad bit harder to open than the old packaging. It also comes with a Prep Pad (to prepare your nail so the fake nail last longer) as well as a file just in case you have any rough edges. The file was especially handy to have when getting extra glitter off the accent nails.
These nails are called "Harlem Shake"

The Product/My Thoughts
Usually the imPRESS nails come with 24 different sized nails. This particular one however came with 30 nails with 6 of them being accent nails (the sparkly ones). So it is almost impossible not to find your match. I have a really small hands, and even I found a match! Each nail has a plastic piece, with a tab hanging off the end making it easy to pull off to put on each nail.
The first thing you do is match up all of the press-on nails to fit over your real nails (they are safe on ALL natural nails). Then I washed my hands with warm water and soap. After drying my hands, I prepped all of my fingernails with the prep pad that was included (which smelled like rubbing alcohol). Once I got my fingernails ready to go, I peeled off the tab (making sure to start with the pinky, so much easier that way) and pressed it onto my nail - matching it up with my cuticle. You have to be real careful when doing this, because once you put the nail on it is ON. I was really "impressed" (hehe, play on words) with how secure they felt. I remember when a version of these first came out they were nowhere near what they are today. They really do stay put, and the glue is strong as they have what is called UltraHold Technology in each of the nails. I appreciate the fact that the glue has no smell, isn't messy, and has literally no drying time! The mega gel shine is truly amazing. Not to mention they come in a bunch of colors, sizes, and shapes. They are constantly coming out with new concepts.
There weren't any big issues that I saw with them. Overall, I am very happy with them. I was able to do everything I normally do, even type and garden which I was a tad worried I wouldn't be able to do. They are the perfect length, and if I want a shorter nail they are easy to file down. Just make sure to wait an hour after application to do so. Then once they started to get old all I had to do was peel them from the side (for an even faster way use nail polish remover) and apply a new pair. I found they lasted anywhere from 3 days to 7 days just depending on how careful I was with them.

Look like acrylic nails. Wonderful idea to late invitations to go out.
ReplyDeleteDefiantly! I got chosen to be a bridesmaid at the last minute, and I was so thankful to have these....Thanks for commenting. :)
DeleteLook real nice but I constantly wash my hands, 3 toddlers in the house makes for lots of wet messes! I have not had luck with press on nails in the past. Did you feel like they lasted long?
ReplyDeleteI do a lot with my hands as well, including gardening and using cleaning supplies and they lasted 3 days. When I didn't do these sort of things they lasted for a week to the point where I had to take them off. So they are sturdy. However, on the packaging it says not to wear them more than 7 days? So I feel these are more of a short term thing like going to an event or a date. Thanks for commenting!
DeleteI too am a fan of fake nails. It's easy and looks great after your done. I would totally wear these any time even if it's not a special occasion. Great review
